About Us

Decades of critical care. A lifetime of commitment.

We are medical professionals who have spent careers in the ICU — and built The Recovery Bridge because we know what survivors face when they leave it.

Our Story

Born from the bedside.

Over three decades in the ICU, we witnessed something that troubled us deeply: patients who survived extraordinary medical crises — who defied the odds — were being discharged into a world they may not have been ready for.

They left the hospital with physical weakness, cognitive fog, and emotional wounds that no one had warned them about. Their families, who had endured their own trauma in waiting rooms and at bedsides, were equally unprepared for what came next.

Post-Intensive Care Syndrome — PICS — was affecting the majority of our patients. Yet most were never told it existed, let alone given a roadmap for navigating it.

The Recovery Bridge was built to be that roadmap. To be the resource we wished every patient and family had when they walked out of the ICU.

Our Background

  • 30+ years of ICU and critical care medicine experience
  • Direct experience managing, treating, and rehabilitating ICU patients
  • Deep familiarity with PICS across physical, cognitive, and mental health domains
  • Commitment to patient advocacy and family-centered care
  • Ongoing engagement with the latest PICS research and clinical guidelines

"We have seen what happens when survivors leave the ICU without support. We have also seen what is possible when they have it. That difference is why The Recovery Bridge exists."

What We Stand For

Our values guide every conversation.

Compassion First

Every survivor and family member deserves to be seen, heard, and supported — not just treated. We lead with empathy in everything we do.

Clinical Excellence

Grounded in 30+ years of critical care experience, our guidance is evidence-based, medically sound, and continuously updated.

Family-Centered

We recognize that critical illness affects the entire family unit. Our support extends to caregivers and loved ones, not just survivors.

Long-Term Commitment

Recovery from PICS is not a sprint. We are committed to walking alongside survivors and families for as long as the journey takes.

Our Mission

Guiding survivors and families beyond the ICU.

To support survivors of critical illness and their families as they navigate beyond the ICU — offering guidance, compassion, and advocacy grounded in decades of critical care experience.

Our Vision

A world where no survivor feels alone.

A world where every ICU survivor and family member feels supported, informed, and empowered — never alone in the journey of recovery.
